Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
